SMP For Men

The majority of men will experience some degree of hair loss by the time they reach their 50s. The most common cause of hair loss is male-pattern baldness and can result from a hormonal imbalance or stress.
Scalp micropigmentation (also known as SMP) is the perfect solution to disguise your hair loss. We use an ultra-fine needle and a natural pigment to deposit hundreds of microdots into the scalp to create that illusion of a 5 o’clock shadow, giving the impression of a closely shaved head.

SMP For Women

Many women suffer from a lack of hair density creating areas of bare patches, often leading to them being incredibly self-conscious. Reasons for female hair loss can vary from hormonal imbalance, physical or emotional stress, over-styling their hair or even a vitamin deficiency.
It is becoming a lot more common for women to be seeking scalp micropigmentation treatment to conceal these patchy areas.
The experts at Scalp Barber Studio will work through the hair section by section with SMP to create an underlying shading effect that will ultimately look like fuller, thicker hair.

SMP For Alopecia

There are many variations of alopecia, including alopecia areata (partial hair loss) and alopecia totalis (complete hair loss). With our hair making up a large part of our identity, it can cause a devastating effect of losing it so suddenly. It can happen overnight.
SMP has a beautiful ability to create the illusion of a full head of hair that has been purposefully shaved and goes completely unnoticed. It can also be camouflaged into existing hair if you haven’t lost all your hair through alopecia.
SMP may not promote hair growth; however, it can help you through that transition of losing your hair and help you gain some of your confidence and identity back.

SMP For Scarring

You may have already undergone a hair transplant that has left you with some scarring. FUT will have left you with a strip-like scar across the back or side of your head and FUE will have left you with small circular scars across your scalp. You may have had a trauma to the scalp leaving you with scars you deem unsightly. SMP can camouflage and conceal any scars you may have by blending the natural pigment into your existing hair follicles. The previous scarring will become non-existent and you will appear to have a full head of hair.
